SUMMARY:Ford’s 2021 Trends Report Explores How Consumers are Adapting to Life During a Pandemic
DESCRIPTION:No one saw 2020 coming the way it did…\nSo\, what does it all mean for 2021 and beyond? \nAs a professional futurist\, Ford’s Sheryl Connelly long embraced the mantra that “No one can predict the future\, but that doesn’t mean we can’t prepare for it.” Yet even the most prepared organizations couldn’t have anticipated the pace and fury of change that unfolded over the course of 2020. Now\, as we barrel into 2021 and look forward to a post-pandemic world\, it’s clear that the changes have changed us. We might be nostalgic for “normal times\,” but we are not who we were. We can look back – but we can’t go back. \nThis session will examine how society is adapting – how consumers\, communities and businesses alike are rewriting the rules of living\, working\, buying\, traveling and more. \nSheryl Connelly will present highlights from Ford’s 2021 Trends Report for the first 20 minutes\, which will be followed by a 20-minute 1-on-1 between Michelle Krebs and Sheryl. The final third of the meeting will feature questions from attendees.  \nAll attendees will receive a link to Ford’s interactive report following the event.  \nFeaturing: \nSheryl Connelly \nChief Futurist \nFord Motor Co. \nConnelly has served as Ford’s corporate futurist for over 15 years. As the Chief Futurist\, Connelly and her team led discussions on long-term thinking\, planning and strategy.  Her responsibilities include identifying global trends\, exploring potential implications and cascading the futuring insights to organizations throughout the company\, including design\, product development and corporate strategy. Forbes Magazine recently recognized her as one of the Most Influential Women in Futuring; Fast Company has identified her as one of the Most Creative People in Business; and TechWeek has included her in its Top 100.  At the request of the World Economic Forum\, she sat on its Global Advisory Committee on transportation in 2015 and 2016.  Sheryl has been featured speaker around the world included TED2018 and TED Global 2013. \nModerated by: \nMichelle Krebs \nExecutive Analyst \nCox Automotive \n  \n  \n  \n  \n \n  \nShare This:

SUMMARY:Webinar: Will the First Autonomous Vehicles Deliver Packages\, Not People?
DESCRIPTION:Webinar: Will the First Autonomous Vehicles Deliver Packages\, Not People?\nFeaturing Colin Langan \nColin will discuss his new study of autonomous vehicle delivery\, which will be released in conjunction with the webinar. While most autonomous vehicle (AV) startups have focused on rideshare\, Colin believes the autonomous delivery opportunity is more compelling given lower technology hurdles and better economics. He will review why removing the human passenger will enable the technology to reach the market faster. His study highlights the delivery market is already substantial\, accounting for close to 1 trillion miles today. More importantly\, AV delivery economics are significantly better than AV rideshare. Despite industry hype\, getting the cost of AV rideshare below personal car ownership is surprisingly difficult. \nFollowing Colin’s presentation there will be plenty of time for Q&A. A copy of the study will be provided to all attendees. \nColin Langan is an experienced automotive equity research analyst and has been a Society of Automotive Analyst board member since 2017. He was ranked by Institutional Investor All-American Research survey in Autos & Auto Parts in 2017\, 2018 and 2019. He authored reports and hosted expert-led conferences\, including What is the Future of Mobility? on the key disruptive automotive themes of autonomous cars\, ride-sharing\, and electric vehicles to help investors gain conviction in investment ideas. He cultivated an extensive automotive industry network to help identify industry risks and themes early. Earlier in his career\, he was a Senior Associate at Deloitte. He holds an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School and a BBA in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame. He is also a CFA charterholder and a certified public accountant. \n
